Home & About Newton Dance Shoes

Hello my name is Don Gleave and in July 2013 I became the new owner of Newton Dance Shoes in Newton- le-Willows, St.Helens.
Newton Dance Shoes was first established in 2005 by my good friend Alan Perris (who has now retired) and since 2006 I have worked with Alan as his trained dance shoe fitter. During this time I developed a sound knowledge of the dance shoe business and learned to fully appreciate the styles and designs of shoes that were required by the modern-day dancer.

I started learning to dance in 2007 and since then I have learned sequence dancing, been awarded medals for ballroom, latin and argentine tango at Billy Martins school of dance. I am also part of the modern jive teaching team at “Jivetastic” in Antrobus. Modern Jive is my main area of dance expertise.

My professional background is that of a painter and decorator and I continue to own my own decorating business. Although these two businesses may initially seem to be a strange combination, it is my many years of experience of understanding the aesthetics of design and colour as well as meeting and befriending many people along the way, which made taking over Newton Dance Shoes the natural choice for a second business.

Although Newton Dance Shoes is still in Newton-le-Willows, it has moved by approximately 1 mile from its original location.
If you have visited Newton Dance Shoes previously please some back and remind yourself of the extensive range of designs and colours that we stock. If you have never visited before please come and say “hello”. You will not be disappointed by the choice that you have or the individual and friendly service you will receive.

Remember that when you come and visit me you will “arrive as strangers, leave as a friends”.

I stock my own range of “Newton Dance Shoes” as well as being the main distributer for “Werner Kern” dance shoes in the North West of England.
